The successful candidate will play a crucial role in both the design and configuration management of products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Engineering:

Create innovative product designs and detailed engineering drawings using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Collaborate with the product development team to translate concepts into manufacturable designs, ensuring cost-effective and quality-driven outcomes.

Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet structural, thermal, and mechanical performance criteria.

Design new products and improve existing ones based on customer feedback, testing results, and market requirements.

Develop and prototype models for testing, troubleshoot design issues, and implement necessary modifications.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies during the design process.

Configuration Management:

Establish and maintain product configurations, ensuring all engineering changes, parts, and assemblies are accurately documented in the configuration management system.

Develop and enforce configuration control processes for product releases, engineering change orders (ECOs), and revision management.

Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure that all design documentation is up-to-date and consistent across the product lifecycle.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, procurement, and quality) to ensure smooth transitions from design to production and accurate tracking of configuration changes.

Conduct regular audits of product configurations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

Provide training and support to team members regarding configuration control best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

3+ years of experience in product design, configuration management, or a related role.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

Familiarity with configuration management tools and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.

Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle and engineering change control processes.

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve design and configuration-related issues.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in manufacturing environments, especially in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or consumer products.
