Patient Service Representative-Orthopedics-Upper Extremity

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our Orthopedics-Upper Extremity team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients, verify insurance information, and accurately code diagnoses and procedures.
- Process payments, manage patient accounts, and ensure timely billing and collection.
- Provide excellent customer service, respond to patient inquiries, and resolve billing and insurance-related issues.
- Assist with scheduling, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a technical specialty preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in orthopedics or a related field.
- Basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding; certification preferred.
Work Environment
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor or manager. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
