Role Summary

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all HSE-related functions. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, documentation, and client expectations. The HSE Manager will implement and manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems as part of an Integrated Management System (IMS) for the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of a robust HSE Management System across the project.
  • Ensure effective communication and compliance of the HSE system with client requirements and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with clients on HSE matters to foster positive relationships with project teams.
Essential Functions
  • Supervise and assess HSE personnel and other professional staff.
  • Promote quality and performance excellence throughout the project.
  • Guide the development and implementation of Environmental Plans for project offices.
  • Oversee the Worksite Management Plan and monitor HSE systems in construction.
  • Administer and manage HSE System Documents, ensuring proper documentation control.
  • Assist in drafting HSE management plans, including Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs) and Safety Management Plans (SMPs).
  • Set quality compliance objectives and ensure achievement of HSE targets.
  • Coordinate activities to meet HSE standards, including developing technical procedures and inspection programs.
  • Work with commercial teams to establish HSE requirements and follow-up procedures.
  • Evaluate supplier specifications against customer and legal requirements.
  • Analyze nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Engage with Project Teams, Clients, Regulatory Agencies, and Suppliers to ensure effective HSE management.
  • Provide training and resources to enable compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Conduct training sessions for project staff.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and analyze feedback.
  • Support the development of annual waste reports and reduction plans.
  • Participate in general training briefings on HSE topics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in Health, Safety, and Environment roles within major construction projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Over 10 years of construction-related experience in HSE roles for significant projects.
  • Experience in Infrastructure projects is preferred.
Work Environment

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, with potential exposure to various environmental conditions. The role may require the use of personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands
