About the Role

Clean Harbors, a leading provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services, is seeking a Class B CDL Route Driver Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that health and safety is the top priority in all aspects of your work, adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Route Delivery: Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner, ensuring that all customers receive the products and services they need.
  • Drum Management: Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations, ensuring that all drums are properly labeled and disposed of.
  • Documentation and Labeling: Complete all required documentation and labeling, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Customer Engagement: Generate and collect leads from customers for new products and services, and sell additional products and services into existing accounts.
  • Compliance: Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Operations: Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and operated.
  • Company Guidelines: Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with company policies.
  • Environmental Health and Safety: Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines, ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Requirements
  • CDL B: Obtain a CDL B within 180 days of employment, with company-paid training.
  • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement: Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 30 days of CDL B.
  • Time Management: Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Computer and Math Skills: Basic computer and math skills, with the ability to accurately complete documentation and labeling.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements, with the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed.
  • Background Check: Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required by the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers and provide excellent service.
  • Commercial Route Driving Experience: Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL), with the ability to safely operate vehicles in a variety of conditions.
