Job Overview

Sebago Technics Inc is in search of a Title/Deed Researcher to enhance our Survey and Geomatics division, ensuring we uphold our commitment to excellence. The perfect candidate will possess a background in a Land Surveying environment.

The Title/Deed Researcher will collaborate with our Survey and Geomatics team by performing deed investigations, drafting essential documents, organizing and maintaining records, and constructing project histories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Project Managers
  • Conduct thorough research on deeds and easements
  • Investigate parcel zoning regulations
  • Draft precise deed descriptions
  • Compile and develop comprehensive project backgrounds

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and principles, research methodologies, court documents, and related processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and sound judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous, though not mandatory

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in deed or title research within the Land Surveying field.
  • A paralegal certificate is preferred but not essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Occasional travel to various registries or town halls may be required. Surveyors often need to research back to the original lot creation, which may exceed the typical 40-year title search, sometimes extending beyond what is available online.
