Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced APP to join our Inpatient Hematology Oncology team at Yale New Haven Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hematology and oncology, with excellent clinical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with hematological and oncological conditions.
  • Collaborate with the attending physician and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, and perform procedures as authorized by hospital policy and state law.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Active certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on hematology and oncology.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience working in an inpatient hematology and oncology setting, with a strong understanding of clinical protocols and guidelines.
