Position Overview

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to delivering comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to a diverse population, with a focus on serving Latinos in Washington State. Position Title: Dental Assistant I, II, or III

Compensation: Hourly Range: $22.88

Role Summary:

A full-time (Monday to Friday) Dental Assistant position is available at our 4th Plain Dental Clinic in Vancouver, WA. The selected candidate will support the dental provider in executing dental procedures permitted by the Washington State Dental Practice Act. Responsibilities include assisting in various dental procedures such as Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, and Oral Surgery, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore tests, and inventory of dental supplies.
  • Assist in training new Dental Assistants and organizing schedules to ensure the smooth operation of dental procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A valid Washington State license and basic life support (BLS) certification are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with dental records and computer systems are essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills are mandatory, along with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish.

For Dental Assistant II:

Completion of a formal Dental Assistant program at a college or technical institute is required, along with a minimum of 6 months of work experience. Candidates without formal training must have at least 18 months of experience in a Dental Assistant role.

For Dental Assistant III:

Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations, including Quality Improvement (QI). Responsibilities include duplicating and mounting radiographs, placing temporary restorations, taking impressions, pouring and trimming models, and performing coronal polishing and fluoride treatments. A minimum of 2 years of work experience is required, with candidates lacking formal training needing at least 3 years of experience in a Dental Assistant position.
