Position Overview

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is currently in search of a Licensed Family Support Counselor for a contract role. This position is integral to our expanding counseling services, and we are eager to find a skilled therapist who is enthusiastic about assisting a diverse clientele across our various programs.

Key Responsibilities

Our dedicated team is committed to aiding families as they navigate the complexities of adjusting to significant life changes, including:

  • Diagnosis of a child
  • Foster care or adoption processes
  • Infertility challenges
  • Other significant life stressors
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
  • Hold a current and active clinical license in Pennsylvania (LPC or LCSW).
  • Have a minimum of one year of post-licensure experience in clinical settings working with families and children.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health conditions and evidence-based therapeutic methods.
  • Exhibit knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Show proficiency in building rapport and communicating effectively with clients of all backgrounds.
  • Experience with families facing infertility, adoption, or caring for children with medical or developmental needs is preferred.
