Family Support Coordinator

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) is in search of a Family Support Coordinator dedicated to advocating for the interests and perspectives of family members and caregivers throughout DHS initiatives and programs. The selected candidate will facilitate family-centered activities and foster connections within the Community Practice System of Care initiative, aimed at enhancing access to behavioral health services for youth and families engaged with the child welfare system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer expertise and guidance to ensure that family perspectives are woven into the planning and execution of programs.
  • Coordinate family participation in the development and planning of programs.
  • Engage in meetings and contribute to quality enhancement processes.
  • Formulate policies and procedures that reflect a family-oriented viewpoint.
  • Cultivate collaborative partnerships with family-oriented organizations.
  • Provide support and technical assistance to agencies focused on family engagement.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services-related discipline, accompanied by a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Personal experience in raising a child with behavioral health challenges.
  • Required clearances and a valid driver's license.
