POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Route Specialist is tasked with the direct marketing and sale of the Company's products, promotional packages, and marketing initiatives to both existing and potential customers within designated sales territories.
This role involves executing various special activities designed by the Company. Employees in this position operate in the field, visiting accounts and potential clients to engage directly with customers. Achieving set sales targets for all corporate brands within the assigned region is a key expectation.REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main duty of this role is to conduct direct sales to customers and prospects at their business premises.
While specific tasks may differ based on customer needs, employees are expected to fulfill the following responsibilities related to outside sales:Engage directly with key customer personnel at their locations to drive sales revenue and enhance the distribution of National Brands in the assigned territory.
Continuously develop the assigned sales area by actively seeking new accounts through outside sales visits.Formulate a sales strategy for each visit to achieve volume and distribution objectives as outlined by the Company's goals.
Anticipate customer objections and prepare an action plan to address them.Conduct all sales visits on scheduled days; aim to minimize phone communications with customers.
Deliver efficient service and merchandising (when applicable) to all accounts to bolster the image of corporate brands among consumers and retail clients.
Maintain thorough knowledge of products and promotional initiatives.Ensure all products at the account are saleable and within their sell-by dates.
Uphold or enhance shelf visibility for all brands and products in accordance with company standards.
Encourage and maintain secondary displays or promotional setups for all marketing activities.
Guarantee the distribution of all authorized products during each account visit.
Identify issues and competitive actions on your route and communicate them to your supervisor.
Adhere to Company guidelines or policies, acting promptly on product complaints or significant recall matters.
Follow up on special dealer requests such as grand openings and banner placements.
Inform the vending department of any anticipated or known customer closures in a timely manner to retrieve equipment.
Check voicemail messages twice daily and respond urgently to customer inquiries.
Foster strong working relationships with key personnel in your accounts.
Accurately complete all new account documentation and submit daily along with necessary state tax-exempt forms. Maintain precise sales records, submitting all required paperwork promptly and correctly.
Keep all assigned company property and equipment in clean condition, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
High school diploma or G.E.D. certification equivalent and two years of successful sales or customer interaction experience.
Valid Driver's License.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Sales experience.
Proficiency with office equipment including computers, phones, fax machines, copiers, and calculators.
Familiarity with MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:
The following environmental conditions are commonly associated with this position, though actual working conditions may vary.
Travel to and from customer accounts (interior/exterior working conditions). Office environment, primarily at customer business locations.
