Position Summary:

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will deliver essential support to individuals in their residences and communities who require help with daily living activities due to aging, illness, disability, or other challenges. Your role may encompass light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and guidance on nutrition and household tasks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Engage in conversation, share experiences, and participate in recreational activities.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and their families or friends.
  • Provide transportation for medical appointments and errands.
  • Accompany clients to social and recreational events.
  • Assist in planning outings and visits.
  • Help with correspondence and organization of mail.
  • Plan and execute trips, potentially traveling with clients.
  • Teach and assist with meal planning and preparation.
  • Perform light cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
  • Contribute to the Care Team by offering insights and suggestions.
  • Ensure all services comply with agency policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor and manage supplies and resources.
  • Evaluate service delivery and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Follow established care plans.
  • Assist with client transfers when appropriate.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Observe and report on client conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and service hours.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address challenges.
  • Assist with pet care as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervisor and team members.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Understanding of home management principles.
  • Familiarity with client service standards and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
  • Awareness of clerical processes for record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a caregiver.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate vehicle insurance.

  • Negative TB test result.
  • Fingerprint clearance.

Experience:
