Position Overview

As a vital member of the nursing care team at Lexington Medical - Extended Care, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient support under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in nursing handovers at the beginning of each shift.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities to enhance their quality of life.
  • Support the transportation of residents to appointments and social activities as needed.
  • Help with lifting, turning, and positioning residents safely.
  • Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance.
  • Facilitate walking for residents, using self-help devices when necessary.
  • Measure and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Regularly check on residents to ensure their personal care needs are met.
  • Assist with the application of medical aids such as slings and bandages.
  • Conduct daily range of motion exercises and record relevant data.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or equipment issues to the Charge Nurse immediately.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols in all duties performed.
  • Clean and disinfect resident care equipment after each use, returning it to the appropriate storage area.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks related to nursing care procedures.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience (minimum 6 months).
  • Certification: Active CNA certification in South Carolina.
  • Training: No additional training required.
