Job Summary

As a member of our nursing care team at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care, you will provide direct patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to support patients with various activities, including nutrition services, transportation, daily hygiene, mobility, and data collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Transport residents to/from appointments, activities, and social programs as necessary.
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
  • Respond promptly to resident calls.
  • Assist residents with walking, using self-help devices as instructed.
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations (TPRs) as instructed.
  • Regularly check residents to ensure their personal care needs are being met.
  • Apply slings, elastic bandages, binders, etc. as needed.
  • Provide daily Range of Motion Exercises and record data as instructed.
  • Report hazardous conditions and equipment to the Charge/Staff Nurse immediately.
  • Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
  • Clean, disinfect, and return all resident care equipment to its designated storage area after each use.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties related to nursing care procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
