Job Summary

This is a Senior-level role that involves investigating and managing complex property/casualty claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining liability, securing information, reviewing coverages, arranging appraisals, and settling third-party property liability claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate Claims Origin and Cause: Conduct thorough investigations to determine the origin and cause of claims, including contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other relevant parties.
  • Identify Complex Issues: Recognize and address complex issues that may arise during the claims process, seeking assistance as needed to ensure fair and timely resolution.
  • Handle Third-Party Claims: Manage third-party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct On-Site Inspections: Perform on-site inspections when necessary, evaluating damages and handling claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
  • Respond to Customer Inquiries: Provide timely and effective responses to customer inquiries, making appropriate decisions and closing files as needed.
  • Interpret Policies and Leases: Interpret and apply policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages to assigned losses, ensuring accurate and fair claims resolution.
  • Make Independent Decisions: Make independent decisions and self-supervise most files, recognizing when assistance is needed to ensure timely and effective claims resolution.
  • Provide Claim Process and Status: Proactively communicate claim process and status to all parties involved, answering questions and redirecting as necessary.
  • Mentor and Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters, providing guidance and support to ensure successful claims resolution.
Requirements
  • Customer-Driven Solutions: Demonstrate experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Claims Handling Experience: Show demonstrated experience handling first- and third-party, multi-line claims.
  • Complex Claims Experience: Demonstrate experience handling simple to moderately complex claims.
  • Policies and Endorsements: Possess extensive knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements.
  • Claim Handling Process: Have extensive knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.
Work Environment

This is a primarily home-based role, with the successful candidate spending 80% of their time working from home, proximate to one of our office locations. On occasion, you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
