This is a Senior level role that involves investigating and managing complex property/casualty claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining liability, securing information, reviewing coverages, arranging appraisals, and settling third-party property liability claims.
Key Responsibilities- Investigation and Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into the origin and cause of claims, including contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other relevant parties.
- Complex Issue Identification: Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed to ensure claims are handled in a fair and timely manner.
- Claim Handling: Handle third-party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements, including conducting on-site inspections, evaluating damages, and negotiating with insureds, claimants, and attorneys.
- Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files as needed to ensure excellent customer service.
- Policy Interpretation: Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages to apply to all parties for assigned losses.
- Decision Making: Make independent decisions and self-supervise most files, recognizing when assistance is needed to ensure claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Communication: Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status as appropriate, answering questions or redirecting to other areas as needed.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Customer-Driven Solutions: Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
- Claims Handling: Demonstrated experience handling first- and third-party, multi-line claims.
- Complexity: Demonstrated experience handling simple to moderately complex claims.
- Policies and Endorsements: Extensive knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements.
- Claim Handling Process: Extensive knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.
This is a primarily home-based role, with the successful candidate spending 80% of their time working from home, proximate to one of our office locations. On occasion, you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
