Position Overview
As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the exportation of products, equipment, and materials from the country via air freight, ensuring adherence to company policies and compliance with applicable local, national, and international regulations. Your role will also involve delivering exceptional customer service to our exporting clients, which includes managing bookings, providing rate information, generating documentation, handling accounting tasks, liaising with agents, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate all necessary documentation to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant air export operations.
  • Organize cargo pick-up and transfer, while monitoring shipment status.
  • Engage with export authorities, customers, and suppliers across various regions to maintain positive and lawful relations.
  • Manage and update carrier and vendor rates, securing spot rates as needed.
  • Communicate promptly with overseas agents and clients regarding pre-alerts, rate inquiries, and shipment updates.
  • Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers and agents.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive customer files.
  • Handle customer invoicing and approval of payables.
  • Conduct audits of files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Foster professional and courteous interactions with colleagues.
  • Complete US Customs AES filings accurately.
  • Oversee JAS operational metrics and customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist other departments or divisions as required by management.

Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with customs laws, practices, and procedures.
  • Able to perform essential duties without posing a direct threat to health or safety.
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous.
  • Geographical knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with Cargowise (C1) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of US Export Compliance is beneficial.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience handling air export shipments or a combination of education and expertise is required.
Work Environment:

This position is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment under standard office conditions. Some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling tasks, reach with arms and hands, and communicate verbally. The employee may also need to kneel, crouch, and lift weights up to 25 pounds. This role demands the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this position is $57,000 to $63,000 annually, in accordance with the California pay transparency law.
