Job Overview:
The International Freight Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the import and export processes for air and ocean shipments. This position requires adherence to compliance regulations, preparation of quotations, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing daily air and ocean export shipments.
  • Coordinating with agents and shippers; preparing necessary documentation for clients; following up with shipping lines; maintaining daily shipment reports as required.
  • Ensuring all essential documents are collected; dispatching final documents as necessary.
  • Filing AES and other mandatory documentation for export processing.
  • Arranging pickups, deliveries, and container loading as needed.
  • Providing customer service updates, including tracking shipments from origin to destination.
  • Setting up billing and payables.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, particularly in air and ocean export operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with freight forwarding software such as Cargowise is advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to outstanding customer service, effectively supporting both external and internal clients, with excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment or work independently with minimal supervision to achieve objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster loyal, long-term customer relationships.
  • Practical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability to manage time effectively, adjusting priorities based on workload or directives from management.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in international freight forwarding logistics.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the US.
