The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at One Medical. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care by collecting blood samples and performing other clinical support services. You will work closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and other techniques
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  • Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties
  • Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life, to interact with team members and complete daily work
Requirements:
  • Active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT
  • Graduated from an accredited postsecondary Medical Assistant program or completion of relevant Medical Assistant training by any branch of the armed forces
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks

About the Role

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) with shifts generally taking place between 8:00am-6:00pm based in our Darien, CT, New Canaan, CT, and Westport, CT offices. Flex Lab Services Specialists lend support to multiple One Medical locations in a market and location and schedule are subject to change.
