Rail Electrical Maintenance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at King County. As a key member of our Rail Division, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems on our light rail network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, including overhead contact systems, traction power substations, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical systems and components.
  • Work safely in a variety of environments, including tunnels, aerial structures, and crowded/tight spaces.
  • Collaborate with other trades and divisions to plan and coordinate activities.
  • Respond to emergency calls and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Three years of high voltage electrical maintenance and/or electrical construction experience.
  • Knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes and means of compliance.
  • Knowledge of rail industries standards, IEEE, and APTA standards.
  • Washington State Journey Electrician Certificate (EL01) or equivalent high voltage certification.
  • Class A driver's license with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain within six months.
