About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Sterling Life Sciences. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the work of the maintenance department and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan, layout, and schedule work for functional areas of responsibility and delegate tasks to subordinate staff members.
  • Hire, train, and develop employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Assist subordinates with diagnosing and remedying complex problems and ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Enforce organizational policies and employee rules of conduct to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Monitor and regulate the operation of departmental areas and investigate solutions to complex problems affecting functional areas of responsibility.
  • Source outside vendors and establish project scope and needs to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative and predictive equipment repair program to minimize downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Develop and monitor formal control programs to track and regulate repair costs and spare parts inventories.
  • Partner with engineering personnel to design, plan, schedule, and complete capital improvement projects.
  • Prepare and maintain department reporting and record-keeping systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Maintain good housekeeping conditions and ensure employee conformance to EHS practices and sanitation rules and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be responsible for regulatory compliance for the department and ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain qualifications and training standards for all maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel have adequate workspace and tools to perform essential tasks, repairs, and development.
  • Interface with regulatory and third-party agencies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure that all expenses are properly accounted for.
Critical Requirements
  • A university degree is required, preferably in a relevant field such as engineering or operations management.
  • Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role.
  • Recent experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in maintenance management.
