Position Summary:
The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department is seeking a proficient Infrastructure Systems Specialist to join our Operations team, reporting directly to the team manager. This position is essential for providing systems-level support and ensuring continuous operations for our infrastructure, which is vital to the medical enterprise of GW MFA.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in Microsoft services, cloud computing strategies, networking, and automation, with significant experience in Azure and hybrid cloud environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and transition on-premises workloads to cloud environments.
  • Manage Windows operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and SQL databases.
  • Oversee infrastructure management, including monitoring, patching, and security protocols.
  • Support both hybrid and native cloud infrastructure frameworks.
  • Assist in reconfiguring on-premises servers for successful cloud migration.
  • Implement Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure and strategize data footprint management.
  • Provide technical insights to inform the infrastructure development roadmap.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and resolve technical incidents.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge base for system configurations.
  • Offer guidance and support to IS&T team members.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSEP, MCSE/MCSA, CompTIA A+/Security+ are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in hybrid or native cloud environments is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VMware Horizon, Active Directory, and Windows server environments.
  • Proficiency in Azure Active Directory, SAN, and network administration.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Strong skills in system migration and IT project management.
  • Previous experience in healthcare IT is strongly preferred; familiarity with Epic systems is a plus.
