Overview
BigBear Inc is seeking to enhance its team with a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, dedicated to the deployment, upkeep, and routine management of the cloud-based Army Synchronization Tool (AST) for both NIPR and SIPR environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of technical proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and web server administration, complemented by strong analytical and collaborative skills.

We are looking for a proactive individual who excels in both independent and team-oriented settings, collaborating effectively with fellow AST team members.


Key Responsibilities
• Configure, manage, and optimize AWS NIPR and SIPR web servers (IL5/IL6).
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of web applications.
• Implement and oversee cloud infrastructure services and database management.
• Work alongside development teams to facilitate seamless application deployment and scaling.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and execute disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate tasks and processes utilizing AWS tools and scripting languages.
• Assist in the deployment of new code releases and bug fixes.
• Enhance deployment automation for our web applications.
• Provide guidance on technical solutions, best practices, and operational efficiencies.
• Recommend system improvements and upgrades based on user requirements.
• Document configuration changes and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies in collaboration with the Information Assurance Manager.

Qualifications
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Web Server and Database Server management.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• DoD Directive 8570/ IAT/IAM Level 2 Certification such as Security+ (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB), web server technologies (Apache, Nginx), and scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of networking, security protocols, and database management.
• Experience in deploying and managing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience in project and task planning, including scope of work, time estimation, and resource allocation.
• Ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally within a team environment.

An aptitude for quickly grasping unfamiliar concepts and systems, identifying opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency and collaboration.


Preferred Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in Web Server and Database Server management.
• Experience with AWS Web Servers and SQL.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense or Department of the Army operations.
Travel Requirements
• Occasional CONUS travel, estimated at 5% – 10% annually.
