Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for scheduling hospital outpatient-based services, managing appointment changes and cancellations, and performing various administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments for hospital outpatient-based services
  • Manage appointment changes and cancellations
  • Interface with patients and clinical staff to communicate scheduling needs and results
  • Provide accurate and detailed information to patients regarding test results and reschedule procedures as needed
  • Respond to patient inquiries and take appropriate action
  • Answer incoming calls, direct calls to the correct party, and check voicemails
  • Responsible for the integrity of pre-registration, including accurate healthcare coverage
  • Escalate operational, provider, or patient complaints to leadership
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes
  • Work well in stressful situations and display a high degree of efficiency
  • Strong emphasis on customer service

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a medical or office setting
  • Outstanding organizational skills and typing speed of 35-45 WPM
  • Medical transcription required
  • High School Diploma
