About the Position:

Wells Fargo is in search of a dedicated Tax Analyst to join our Sales Tax Center of Excellence within the Wholesale Lending Operations division. The Tax Analyst will oversee all facets of the organization's sales tax obligations related to its equipment leasing operations. This role is pivotal in formulating and executing effective tax strategies while providing essential tax guidance to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in state and local sales, use, and leasing tax regulations, rulings, and judicial decisions.
  • Conduct thorough research on sales, use, and leasing tax matters.
  • Maintain comprehensive records associated with sales tax filings and reports.
  • Operate with moderate to minimal oversight.
  • Offer functional advice to junior staff members.
  • Consult on sales, use, and leasing tax issues with the equipment leasing sector and other control functions.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with the equipment leasing business to gather and analyze data crucial for sales tax compliance.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather internal financial or tax data, conduct data analysis, ensure accuracy, and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Engage in various projects as required.
  • Regularly communicate and provide consultation to stakeholders within the equipment leasing sector.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting, demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Preferred:
  • At least 2 years of experience in multistate transaction tax consulting.
  • Experience in sales and use tax research and administration.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Familiarity with Vertex sales tax solutions.
  • Experience in transaction tax within the leasing sector is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for technical analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience with Alteryx is desirable.
  • Background in equipment finance or commercial leasing.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proven collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Capacity to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work at one of our approved job posting locations.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, with at least 3 days a week in the office.
  • No visa sponsorship is available.
Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is between $63,000 and $113,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and work location. This range is one component of the overall compensation package offered to candidates.
