The Corporate Tax Division is composed of several teams focused on providing extensive corporate income tax solutions worldwide for Wells Fargo & Company and its affiliates.

About the Role

Wells Fargo is looking for a Tax Controversy Analyst to join the federal and state income tax controversy team within the Corporate Tax Division. In this position, you will support federal and state income tax examinations and aid in monitoring and managing controversy-related risks and resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support federal and state corporate income tax examinations.
  • Assist in federal and state income tax appeals and legal proceedings.
  • Conduct research and develop analyses concerning tax controversy issues.
  • Help draft memoranda and protests regarding tax controversy matters.
  • Engage with federal and state tax authorities.
  • Provide advice and/or prepare amended tax filings.
  • Assist in the accounting, reporting, and controls associated with controversy risks and resolutions.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Business Taxation, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Attorney License.
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Law.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate income tax.
  • Experience with large corporate income tax returns or tax provisions.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and modify plans swiftly to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Capacity to assume a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Experience with Longview, Essbase, and/or SmartView.
