The Clinical Support Specialist, under the supervision of the Medical Assistant Supervisor, guided by the policies and procedures of the Center for Reproductive Health and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff, has the clinical responsibility for developing and maintaining a high standard of patient care. S/he will perform clinical duties and coordination specific to unassisted and assisted reproductive techniques as well as Andrology and gynecological treatment. Primary responsibility is to perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures in support of the primary and specialty care services provided to patients within the practice. The Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. All components of care will be individualized to meet the patient's physiological and psychosocial development level and needs. The Clinical Support Specialist consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor and shall comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards
Responsibilities- Perform clinical duties and coordination specific to unassisted and assisted reproductive techniques
- Develop and maintain a high standard of patient care
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Perform assigned patient care and laboratory procedures
- Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant/Hospital Assistant in a medical practice
