Job Summary

The Cardiac Transplant Coordinator plays a critical role in the national and international cardiac transplantation process, collaborating with the Coordinator-Transplant Two (2) and Medical Director to coordinate the transplant interdisciplinary medical care delivery system. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, families, procurement agencies, and payors to ensure effective utilization of resources and quality improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates all aspects of the cardiac transplantation process, including patient case management and coordination of transplant interdisciplinary medical care delivery system.
  • Collaborates with Coordinator-Transplant Two (2) and Medical Director to ensure effective utilization of resources and quality improvement.
  • Provides liaison services among physicians, patients, families, procurement agencies, and payors.
  • Travels extensively for organ procurement on short notice.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years of critical care clinical experience in cardiology, cardiac surgery, or neonatology required.
  • Minimum one year experience in transplant or cardiac specialty preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to write legibly.
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to trouble shoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
