Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse B - Pediatric Cardiac ICU utilizes expertise and independent judgment to provide high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves coordinating and documenting direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory). The ideal candidate will be able to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice, continually expand their knowledge base and clinical skills, and prioritize excellent customer service and safe patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
  • Coordinate and document patient care, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Utilize expertise and independent judgment to make decisions regarding patient care, in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model.
  • Apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice, continually expanding knowledge base and clinical skills.
  • Prioritize excellent customer service and safe patient care, ensuring a positive experience for patients and families.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a pediatric cardiac ICU setting.
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
