Clinical Nurse B-ED Specialist

The Clinical Nurse B-Emergency Department (ED) at Loma Linda University Medical Center is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Clinical Nurse B-ED, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients with a variety of illnesses and injuries, while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
This role requires a strong foundation in nursing theory and practice, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to prioritize and coordinate care for multiple patients simultaneously, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations. The Clinical Nurse B-ED will also be responsible for participating in on-call rotations and serving as a Shift Coordinator as needed.

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required for this role. If hired prior to April 1, 2020, an Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing may be accepted. One year of nursing experience is also required. New hires are eligible to be promoted to the Clinical Nurse-C classification after two years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
The Clinical Nurse B-ED must possess basic competencies in clinical nursing, as well as the ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice. A strong understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation is also required. The ideal candidate will be able to speak, read, and write legibly in English, with a preference for Spanish proficiency. Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic medical records and software programs are also necessary.
Licensures and Certifications:
An active California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required for this role. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certifications are also required. Emergency Nurse Pediatric certification through the Emergency Nurse Association is preferred. Certified Emergency Nurse certification is also desirable.
