Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our medical facility. This position serves as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, providing essential support to both patients and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update patient records, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Handle insurance and medical forms to completion, including prior authorizations, referrals, FMLA, ADA, school forms, and letter preparation.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, medical providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and due payments for services rendered, and issue receipts and set up payment plans as needed.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointment, and ensure accuracy in patient billing and coding information.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area, and ensure the cleanliness of patient rooms and clinical areas.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and payor regulations.
  • Work closely with medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and medical assistants, to ensure coordinated patient care, and collaborate with billing and coding specialists to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
  • Completion of a medical assisting program from an accredited institution - preferred
  • 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant or front desk work preferred

Salary Range: $18-20
