Transformative Role

Serve as a key member of the Smile Train team in a Director, Development position.

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience, with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes.

We are seeking an individual with a proven history of securing gifts of $25,000, experience working with and growing a major gift level donor portfolio, and strong technological aptitude.

This is a full-time engagement starting as soon as possible. Domestic travel will be required (up to 50%).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to influence and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that increases revenue to support Smile Train's strategic direction and programs.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
  • Maintain a portfolio of major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5- and 6-figure annual gifts and 6- and 7-figure leadership gifts.
  • Conduct 75 to 100 meetings with donors and prospects annually through one-on-one meetings, site visits, and other types of meaningful contact.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and direct reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to take ownership of a process and use problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

Located in the Chicago, Dallas, or Houston regions, this role requires domestic travel up to 50%.
