Position Overview

As a Retail Operations Supervisor, you thrive in a dynamic environment, driven by your enthusiasm for literature and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Acting as the right hand to the Store Manager, you play a crucial role in maintaining the aesthetic and consistent presentation of our retail space, empowered to make decisions that enhance the shopping experience for our patrons. You engage in regular communication with your Store Manager to share insights and ideas that elevate customer satisfaction and foster team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers, setting a standard through your actions and guiding the team in providing top-tier service.
  • Maintain a vibrant retail environment by executing fundamental bookstore operations flawlessly.
  • Evaluate the store from the customer's viewpoint and utilize insights to advocate for enhancements in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Exhibit effective selling techniques to promote successful initiatives such as featured selections and preorders, showcasing your expertise in literature and driving sales.
  • Foster the development of the sales team through engagement and coaching, providing constructive feedback to leverage individual strengths and identify talent for growth within the store.
  • Achieve sales targets and ensure operational excellence to maximize efficiency and minimize losses through timely execution of all procedures.
  • Adhere to company standards regarding safety, customer communication, and all operational aspects of the store.
  • Communicate respectfully and urgently with your team on critical issues, cultivating a culture that reflects the company’s values.
  • Collaborate within the cluster structure to enhance the performance of all locations.
  • Engage actively on the sales floor, which involves physical activities such as prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of the store, ensuring the safety of both employees and customers.
