Job Title: Stacker

Join WEG Electric Corp. as a Stacker in our Lamination Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assembling laminated subassemblies for stator winding, pole winding, exciter winding, and rotor assembly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble spider, field poles, armature cores, and rotors, including stacking, shrink fitting, grinding, welding, filling, pressing, and torqueing.
  • Set up and operate various machining equipment to perform milling, drilling, tapping, cutting, and precision grinding.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic presses.
  • Stack laminations, place followers, drive rivets, drive cage and damper bars, and press laminations.
  • Read prints and routing information to determine sequence and method of manufacturing.
  • Use fixtures as necessary.
  • Chart and maintain inventories of shelf life materials in the stacking area.
  • Work in other areas of the Lamination Team skills matrix, may work in press set up and operation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
  • Perform to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abide by OSHA and EPA regulations.
Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent (preferred) with 1 year of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain basic welding certificate.
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane, and forklift operation.
Physical Requirements:
  • Routinely lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
  • Routinely work at heights or on platforms.
  • Occasionally position self in various workspaces, including low, tight, or confined spaces.
  • Occasionally remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Routinely use repetitive motions including wrists, hands, or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
  • Routinely move from one workstation to another to accomplish tasks.
