Physician (Deputy Chief of Staff) - Clinical Leadership

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Physician to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff. This is a key leadership position that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the clinical operations of the Albuquerque VA Healthcare System.
- Assist in the administration and oversight of clinical, educational, and research programs.
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and the achievement of operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to establish policies and procedures that promote best practices in patient care.
- Provide supervision and guidance to clinical staff, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the medical center's strategic plan.
- Represent the medical center at local, regional, and national levels, as needed.
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of a residency program in a relevant specialty.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of healthcare policy and regulations.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
