About the Role

Gannett Fleming is seeking a highly experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead our geotechnical engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and oversight on complex projects, including dam and levee safety, foundation design, seismic evaluation, and slope stability analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical engineering solutions for complex projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Conduct business development activities to identify new opportunities and grow our client base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor technical staff to ensure their professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Master of Science degree preferred.
  • 15 or more years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with increasing responsibility and expertise.
  • Professional Engineering license in California or a state that provides comity with California.
  • Geotechnical Engineering license in California.
  • Expert-level knowledge of geotechnical engineering concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Proficient in the review and preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and similar computer programs.
  • Knowledge of specialized computer analysis programs (e.g., FLAC, GeoStudio, Mathcad, etc.).
