Job Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hospital's Clinical Neurophysiology Department is seeking a skilled EEG Technologist to join our team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, documentation, and education under the general supervision of the EEG Coordinator, Unit leader, or designee. This includes performing basic routine and continuous video EEG studies, as well as providing guidance, mentoring, and education to lower-level technicians. You will also be responsible for monitoring in-patient vEEG/LTM for an uninterrupted, clean recording.

Responsibilities
  • Perform EEGs in accordance with the 10-20 system outlined by ACNS and departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures on patients of all ages.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and education to lower-level technicians.
  • Monitor in-patient vEEG/LTM for an uninterrupted, clean recording.
  • Interact professionally and interpersonally with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and family.
  • Effective communication with all members of the interdisciplinary team, patient, and family.

Requirements
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained.
  • One year EEG Technician work experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
