Job Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hospital's Clinical Neurophysiology Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EEG Technician Coordinator-Inpatient to oversee the daily 24-hour inpatient EEG operations for both Adult and Pediatric Services. This role will supervise the EEG Technical staff and Clinical Unit Leaders, maintaining policies and procedures, and developing and implementing QA programs to ensure lab accreditations. The successful candidate will work closely with Neurosurgeons to oversee epilepsy surgery cases, including programming EEGs for recording of intracranial electrodes, providing intraoperative EEG monitoring, and following these patient's EEGs to completion. Key Responsibilities

* Oversee daily 24-hour inpatient EEG operations for both Adult and Pediatric Services
* Supervise EEG Technical staff and Clinical Unit Leaders
* Maintain policies and procedures, and develop and implement QA programs to ensure lab accreditations
* Work closely with Neurosurgeons to oversee epilepsy surgery cases
* Provide intraoperative EEG monitoring and follow patient's EEGs to completion

Requirements

* Associate degree or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic program or the equivalent, bachelor's degree is preferred
* Registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained
* Minimum of Five years Neurodiagnostic work experience required with at least three years EEG Technologist experience
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
