Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Section Team Lead to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Round Rock, TX. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading the electrical discipline, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence. You'll work closely with our clients, internal stakeholders, and other business groups to deliver high-quality projects and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage the technical and operational activities of the electrical discipline, including design, staff development, and workload management.
  • Prepare and review project budgets and scopes for the electrical discipline, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate all work performed within the discipline, prioritizing tasks and projects to meet client needs.
  • Monitor scope of work and scope changes, ensuring that all projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Facilitate coordination with other discipline groups, promoting a collaborative and integrated approach to project delivery.
  • Conduct interviews and provide mentoring to new staff members, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Establish employee goals and conduct performance reviews, driving individual and team growth.
  • Schedule and conduct section meetings to discuss productivity, workload, and quality control issues.
  • Advance the skill level of personnel through training, education, and experience, ensuring that our team remains up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with electrical discipline managers from other business group locations to review workload, project status, and staffing requirements.
  • Prepare and review electrical engineering scope of work and budgets/estimates for proposals, ensuring that our bids are competitive and accurate.
  • Monitor changes in codes, regulations, and client standards, keeping staff informed and up-to-date on current industry practices.
  • Implement required changes into electrical design standards, procedures, and deliverables, ensuring that our work meets the highest standards.
  • Perform quality control reviews, ensuring that all projects meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Serve as a Project Manager or Task Lead as required, and perform project engineer duties when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 7 years of management experience.
  • Professional registration or license.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in design calculations, specifications, and preparation of construction drawings for corporate/commercial development, industrial, federal, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong communication, listening, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Experience and interest in sustainable design, including credentials in high-performance building design similar to LEED.
