Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Test Technician to join our team at TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for testing and evaluating electrical systems and components to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough electrical tests on a variety of systems, including medium voltage drives, rotational apparatus, and systems comprised of drives and rotational apparatus.
  • Prepare and conduct electrical, thermal, and mechanical tests under the direction of engineering personnel and senior technicians.
  • Install and test low and medium voltage equipment, including cabling, clamping, fixturing, instrumentation, piping, and other necessary components.
  • Wires assemblies and subassemblies per schematics and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
  • Interface electrical components with measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment.
  • Apply electrical and mechanical power to test items and subject them to successive steps in the test cycle.
  • Record data and create reports as necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve problems and review test plans.
  • Maintain production test equipment, including troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
  • Above-average reading and math skills.
  • Possess a general aptitude for electrical and mechanical operations.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Highly self-motivated and independent.
  • Ability to function well in a team environment and interact with production, engineering, and quality assurance personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with above-average mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, meters, sensors, thermocouples, infra-red detectors, strain gauges, air flow meters, power analyzers, vibration analyzers, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology or similar field.
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training.
  • Electrician's license (Master or Journeyman).
  • ISO Category I or higher vibration analyst certification.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
