Job Summary
CSL is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing pheresis procedures and plasma collection, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines.
- Evaluate vein performance and make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
- Monitor donor flow and alert Group Leaders or Supervisors of any issues.
- Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing.
- Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, adhering to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies.
- Ensure confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.
- Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
Working Conditions
The Phlebotomist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires the ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the time, reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity. The Phlebotomist will be frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required for specific tasks or in certain areas.
