Your Role with Us

As an Inpatient Phlebotomist at Salem Health, you will perform a variety of specimen collections for laboratory testing and will also perform bedside testing in a variety of settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting venous, arterial, and skin puncture specimens
  • Performing blood gas tests, coagulation tests, chemistry tests, hematology tests, and POC tests
  • Working in emergency departments, inpatient units, pre-surgery, and recovery areas

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or adequate draw/work experience creating eligibility to sit for a nationally recognized certification exam
  • One (1) year of phlebotomy experience or successful completion of a phlebotomy school program
  • Clinical rotation at Salem Health preferred
  • National recognized Phlebotomy Certificate or agrees to obtain at individual's own expense within six (6) months of hire
