Job Summary:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for ensuring the profitability of the dealership by planning, motivating, and coordinating the sales team. This includes hiring, training, and monitoring the performance of salespeople, directing and scheduling department activities, and implementing a prospect tracking and follow-up system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and motivate salespeople to meet sales goals.
  • Direct and schedule department activities to ensure proper staffing.
  • Ensure each customer is greeted promptly and efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain a prospect tracking and follow-up system.
  • Assist salespeople in closing deals and communicating with new-vehicle and used-vehicle salespeople.
  • Conduct sales training meetings and provide support to meet sales goals.
  • Forecast and set realistic monthly goals and objectives for individual salespeople.
  • Develop improvement programs for salespeople who are struggling to meet objectives.
  • Ensure salespeople maintain a high customer satisfaction rating.
  • Recommend dismissal of salespeople who fail to meet dealership standards.
  • Follow up with new owners to ensure satisfaction with sales and delivery process.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting vehicle sales.
  • Maintain and monitor CSI as per manufacturer requirements.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attend managers' meetings as requested.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of dealership sales and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with others in a complex matrix structure.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand profit and loss statements.
  • Ability to manage a large, diverse staff.
  • Ability to work a 6-day work week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Computer and internet savvy.
  • Proactive in nature.
  • Ability to plan and organize daily selling activities.
  • Ability to secure new business with daily follow-up.
  • Experience working with CRM's and follow-up.
  • Experience providing quality customer service.
  • Strong team leader and team player.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day Shift

Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
