The primary objective of the Operations Manager is to oversee the daily functions of Z Global Logistics at the Plantation headquarters and the Sunrise Warehouse.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for all facets of the operation and its personnel to attain operational excellence and ensure a superior level of customer service for our internal shipping and distribution network.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving requests for various departments within the company.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of packages on a daily basis.
  • Lead and guide staff by establishing goals and providing them with the necessary tools to achieve these objectives. Monitor performance, offer feedback, mentor, and assist in their professional development.
  • Oversee inventory management across multiple locations using our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ensure adherence to established processes.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and counsel staff as necessary, conducting all aspects of performance management for the team.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from all organizational levels on a daily basis.
  • Review operational processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with pick-up and delivery schedules by staff and other departments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Experience in process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills to manage situations calmly and effectively.
  • Intermediate proficiency in spreadsheet management.
  • Experience in inventory control, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and recommend improvements.
  • Familiarity with WMS systems.
  • Knowledge of FedEx/UPS shipping modules, including label creation and international shipping.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a packaging center and inventory control is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Extensiv (WMS) is a plus.
  • Multilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are advantageous.

Working Conditions:
  • Environment: Office, warehouse, and occasionally outdoors.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, hear, and see frequently.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive.
  • Occasional requirements to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, and reach with hands and arms.

Travel Requirements:
Some national travel may be necessary.
