Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Accountant will be accountable for:

  • Managing fixed asset accounting, which includes:
    • Monitoring existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and coordinating the accounting for asset disposals. Ensuring proper controls, procedures, and asset requisition forms are in place for fixed asset recordation.
    • Overseeing project classifications from work in progress to placement in service.
    • Compiling project costs, comparing them to the capital budget and management approvals, and closing accounts for completed projects.
  • Preparing monthly expense entries accurately and promptly to reflect costs associated with information technology engineering (including internally developed software) by gathering and analyzing data from various business teams.
  • Conducting variance analyses for income statement accounts, international operations, and month-over-month balance sheet account comparisons.
  • Tracking and amortizing prepaid costs for IT engineering (including cloud computing).
  • Providing information and reports to the Financial Planning and Analysis team to support annual budgeting and interim forecasts.
  • Collaborating with Financial Accounting management to analyze and document appropriate GAAP accounting interpretations.
  • Maintaining and updating internal process documentation for existing accounting practices and policies.
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements, including utilizing technological solutions to boost efficiency and assist in implementing robotic process automation.
  • Supporting general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, month-end closing processes, financial reporting accuracy, GL account reconciliations, and variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Preparing schedules and supporting documentation for annual financial statements and tax filings as required.
  • Compiling data and schedules for audit requests during interim and year-end audit cycles in support of both external and internal audits.
  • Executing special projects, analyses, and ad hoc reporting as necessary.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, including exposure to international operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and power pivot.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
  • Competence in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven track record of initiative in research and follow-through.
  • Established ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, BlackLine, Salesforce, Bloomberg Tax and Accounting, as well as experience with Leases and Fixed Assets and SAP software preferred.

The salary range for this position is:

$74,000.00 USD Annual

Actual salary within this range will be determined by individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may qualify for a bonus or incentive program, with details discussed during the interview process.
