Materials Science Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement testing methodologies to assess the impact of diverse conditions on specific materials.
- Ensure that process specifications, operational instructions, and equipment controls are effectively established and communicated.
- Monitor and audit product and process outcomes to guarantee that desired material characteristics and quality standards are consistently met.
- Collaborate with development engineers to formulate robust operational processes and specifications for innovative products, materials, and alloys.
- Assist in the planning and production management to optimize scheduling and utilization of essential equipment.
- Lead strategic planning and capital initiatives to proactively enhance process capabilities and capacities to align with business growth targets.
- Identify and implement improvements in products and processes to enhance efficiency or reduce costs, leveraging knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality control standards.
- Analyze root causes of failures using systematic methods and recommend modifications in designs, tolerances, or processing techniques.
- Create comprehensive work instructions and manufacturing process documentation to ensure safe and effective execution of processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in thermomechanical processing.
- Must meet ITAR hiring requirements (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, emphasizing a hands-on approach.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
