Position Overview
The Government Affairs Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Management of Government Affairs (MGA) by facilitating the completion of investigations and responses related to Letters of Investigation (LOI), Voluntary Disclosure Reports (VDR), and reviews of the Airworthiness Manual concerning Safety Assurance Inspection (SAI) elements.

Key Responsibilities
This role includes assisting Quality Department Managers with enhancements and revisions to manuals, ensuring that SAI attributes are adequately addressed and that Essential Performance Indicators (EPI) are incorporated. The specialist will also review the FAA registry for proposed regulatory changes and evaluate their implications for Allegiant Airlines.

Minimum Qualifications
A combination of education and experience will be taken into account. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as per the Immigration Act of 1986 and must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.

Educational Background
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Certification in Airframe and Powerplant is necessary, along with a minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience in a robust Quality Assurance environment within a 121 carrier.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications include:

  • A valid Passport
  • Ability to obtain an airport SIDA Badge
  • Basic computer proficiency

Job Duties
The specialist will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating due dates for governmental responses related to airworthiness issues with the MGA.
  • Processing FAA requests, including log pages, Engineering Orders (EOs), flight schedules, and work orders, and submitting them to the FAA.
  • Overseeing corrective actions to ensure closure of LOI and VDR issues.
  • Investigating informal FAA concerns regarding operational manuals.
  • Conducting daily reviews of the FAA registry for items impacting Allegiant Air fleet operations.
  • Tracking FAA geographical inspections reported on M744s at Allegiant Stations or maintenance providers.
  • Assisting Quality Department Managers in developing manual corrections and revisions that assure compliance with SAI/EPI.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands and work environment for this role include:
- Regularly standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands to operate office equipment.
- The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs.
- Working various shifts in a 24-hour environment may be required.
