Position Title: Application Engineer II

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze MEP systems depicted in technical drawings.
  • Comprehend the functionality of various mechanical equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, air handling units, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, and exhaust fans.
  • Formulate detailed sequences of operations based on engineering schematics or actual site conditions.
  • Design intricate electrical circuits involving variable frequency drives, motor starters, transducers, actuators, sensors, and relay logic.
  • Utilize Visio and AutoCAD for design purposes.
  • Possess advanced expertise in control hardware.
  • Select appropriate control hardware tailored to equipment specifications.
  • Explore innovative control technologies to improve our existing product lineup.
  • Create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based solely on mechanical equipment.
  • Develop controls submittals and operations & maintenance documentation.
  • Identify potential scopes of work for the implementation of control systems.
  • Collaborate with field electricians to specify installation methods.
  • Establish control panel construction timelines and manage control panel material inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in applications engineering.
  • Required engineering skills encompass knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and programming.
  • Familiarity with at least two HVAC control systems (preferably Distech, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, or Delta).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Experience in control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance is preferred.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $53.00.
