Position Title: Mechanical & Plumbing Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and share market insights for each estimating project by engaging with buyers, end users, vendors, and other information sources.
  • Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop effective quotation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, and Sales Departments to assess customer needs and create successful quotation strategies.
  • Determine the best cost and availability of materials from the customer's Approved Material Supplier or Country of Origin List, preparing material and labor estimates for the quotation process.
  • Utilize all estimating documentation and electronic tools effectively to prepare bills of materials and labor estimates for all quotations.
  • Ensure timely and organized completion of all documentation in accordance with company policies and management directives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant HVAC experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of estimation experience, particularly with NAVFAC or federally funded projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various Mechanical systems, including Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, primary and secondary piping, HVAC ductwork, RTU, AHU, and VAVs.
  • Experience in tooling, machining, fabrication, or construction environments.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite applications (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing abilities and capacity to read and interpret drawings and construction plans are essential for success.
  • This role requires excellent negotiation and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage orders throughout the manufacturing process.
