Position Title: Mechanical & Plumbing Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and share market insights for each estimating project by engaging with buyers, end users, vendors, and other relevant sources.
  • Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop effective quotation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, and Sales teams to assess customer needs and create successful bidding strategies.
  • Determine the best cost and availability of materials from the customer's Approved Material Supplier or Country of Origin List and prepare detailed material and labor estimates for the quotation process.
  • Utilize all estimating documentation and electronic tools proficiently to prepare bills of materials and labor estimates for all proposals.
  • Ensure timely and organized completion of all documentation in accordance with company policies and management directives.

Job Requirements (including educational qualifications, experience, and technical skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant HVAC experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in estimation, particularly with NAVFAC or federally funded projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various Mechanical systems, including Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, primary and secondary piping, HVAC ductwork, RTU, AHU, and VAV systems.
  • Experience in tooling, machining, fabrication, or construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite applications (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing capabilities and the ability to interpret drawings and construction plans are essential for success.
  • This role demands excellent negotiation and organizational skills, with the ability to perform detailed tasks promptly, manage follow-ups through order closure, and oversee the order throughout the manufacturing process.
