General Earthwork Superintendent Job Description

Job Summary:

Quality Enterprises USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled General Earthwork Superintendent to oversee and coordinate the work of multiple crews for mass excavation, detailed excavation, rough and final grading, and demolition of miscellaneous structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple earthwork crews, ensuring all aspects of work are completed according to project plans.
  • Ensure assigned work progresses on schedule and communicate expectations and responsibilities to crew foremen.
  • Promote a safe work culture by maintaining safe working conditions according to OSHA and company regulations.
  • Oversee work schedules for crews and complete feedback sessions for new superintendents within their first 90 days of employment.
  • Complete six-month and annual reviews for earthwork superintendents and proactively anticipate scheduling needs and potential issues three weeks in advance.
  • Communicate with upper management on a regular basis regarding potential scope gaps and other job site needs.
  • Prepare and submit required daily reports and paperwork, maintaining QE's image and positive relationship with the community through site cleanliness.
  • Proactively control job costs and promote environmental responsibility at the jobsite and among crew members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience in major heavy highway or bridge construction, including at least three years as a foreman or superintendent.
  • Experience with project management and/or construction software, proficient in O365 and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Valid Florida class E driver license with acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of time working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
